Yellow Pages

Two yellow pages of coupons and adverts
find me as they always do.
I pick up the paper and read through.
Pages clamour with words without meaning.
I hold them up to the light and read through.

Through and through and between the lines,
I hold up a dollarbill to the light.
I do not see through, and perhaps it is best that way.
